A 19th Cabinet on stand veneered in laburnum oysters

A fine early 19th C. Cabinet on stand measures a wonderful 156cm high x 134cm wide veneered all over with laburnum oysters. Laburnum A wood that is yellowish with brown highlights that takes a high polish. Usually for veneered surfaces in 18th century English furniture. Known as Oystering when branches are cut so the veneer appears in circles. oystering A decorative form of veneering using slices of wood cut in vertical cross-section from the branches of small trees, such as laburnum and walnut, to create a pattern of repetitive whorls on furniture.
